A while back, NE-YO said in an interview that he's so diverse, he could work with everyone from MICHAEL BOLTON to MARILYN MANSON. Well, that comment went from from Ne-Yo's mouth to Manson's people's ears, and Entertainment Weekly reports that the two artists are actually trying to schedule some time in the studio to work together. But why would Ne-Yo want to work with Marilyn Manson anyway?

After all, he's having plenty of success creating songs for MICHAEL JACKSON, WHITNEY HOUSTON, JENNIFER HUDSON, RIHANNA and other top pop stars, as well as for himself. Well, Ne-Yo told us it's about proving a point. He explains, "At the end of the day, when I'm dead and gone, I want people to say, 'Ne-Yo was a great songwriter.' Not an R&B songwriter, not a pop songwriter, just a songwriter. Meaning that I could write songs for anybody that's doing any kind of music."
