Rapper DMX was arrested Monday on a warrant for not having a valid driver's license, Miami-Dade police say. See his mugshot!

The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, 37, was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Monday afternoon. His bond is set at $500.

He is awaiting trial on drug and animal cruelty charges in Arizona. Police in May raided his home in Maricopa County, where deputies say they found 12 neglected pitbulls. He has pleaded not guilty in that case.

The rapper and actor also pleaded guilty in 2002 on similar animal cruelty and drug charges out of New Jersey.

You would never think someone that sold so many albums and impressed so many millions of people with his lyrics would go down for abuse of animals.This is coming from a true fan.But what can you say some people don't know how to keep the fam alive.And animal abuse is cruelty.I'M NOT DOWN WITH IT.

Earl has fallen into the "Once Hungry, Now Thursty" Rapper Category! Once hungry for the Attention, the Money, the Fame. Now that he's had all of that, and some really HIGH all nighters, dude has lost his mind. Thursty for more attention. 1st what is this dude doing living in Arizona? i know when you sell 20 million albums, you just want to stay in the states where the FEDS pay attention to your album covers - 2nd when are people going to learn? If you have money, raise, fight, call dogs your family overseas! The USA is not playin wit fighting dogs, and animal abuse. They will put you under the jail, ask Mike V..
