It's slated for a December 9th release, the same day his album of that name arrives. But even though the album inspired the movie, none of its tunes will be on the soundtrack. Fiddy explains, "Then [my record label] would automatically have the rights to it, when they had absolutely no ownership of the actual material." So he wrote a separate score for the film and then hired unsigned artists to do the vocals.

So what can viewers expect from Before I Self-Destruct, the movie? Fiddy explains, "I showed characters...in scenarios where they felt like there were no other options, even though there were." He says his goal was to portray the complexities of urban life in a new way.
