Akon May Be "Konvicted" At Trial Over Fan-Tossing Incident
AKON is headed to trial over an incident in Fishkill, New York last summer during which he allegely tossed a teenager off the stage during a concert. The fan landed on another concertgoer, allegedly resulting in a concussion.
Akon pleaded not guilty last December to misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment. During a brief court appearance on Wednesday, he asked for a jury trial, which is now scheduled to begin December 1st. He faces a maximum of one year and 15 days behind bars if he's convicted. However, Akon's lawyers may try to reach a deal long before the trial takes place. In fact, the DA asked Akon's attorney to try to work something out in the next two weeks, before jury duty notices are mailed out.
