R. Kelly's Concert Promoter Must Pay Ne-Yo $700,000 After Bouncing Him From Their Show
Back in November, NE-YO was FIRED from R. KELLY'S 25-date tour after the second show . . . but now, he's finally getting PAID
A Los Angeles judge has ordered Rowe Entertainment (which served as R. Kelly's tour promoter) to pay Ne-Yo $700,320. Or, essentially, the rest of the money that Ne-Yo WOULD have made had he remained on the tour. Ne-Yo was under contract to make $785,000 for joining R. Kelly for all 25 shows. However, he'd only been paid a piece of that at the time he'd been let go. (In case you're wondering, we still don't know WHY he was canned)
(At the time, Ne-Yo claimed that R. Kelly was upset because Ne-Yo was getting a better response from fans . . . and critics. But the promoter claimed Ne-Yo was dropped because he never completed the proper paperwork . . . or something.)
Ne-Yo had filed the lawsuit back in December, and he was awarded the full amount in a DEFAULT judgment because Rowe refused to respond to the lawsuit.
R. Kelly was NOT named as a defendant in the lawsuit.
R. Kelly's concert bill also included KEYSHIA COLE and J. HOLIDAY
