Britney Spears Is New 'Candies' Girl
Will BRITNEY SPEARS be the ringmaster of her Circus tour, or just a clown? That's the question many are asking as Brit kicks off her first arena tour in five years tonight in New Orleans. So far, Pollstar reports that tickets are selling well -- an indication that fans want to see their girl in action once again.
Here's a preview of Brit's Circus tour via MySpace Celebrity. For the full rehearsal tour trailer, visit Candies.com at 7pm tonight.
First Look at Britney's 'Circus' Tour
To tie in with the tour, Britney has just signed a deal to appear in print, TV and online ad campaigns for the Candie's line of clothing and accessories, available only at Kohl's. Both Candie's and Kohl's will be associate sponsors of the tour, and Britney will wear Candie's clothing, footwear and accessories in one of her upcoming videos.
The Circus tour will be one of Britney's patented full-blown productions, complete with three rings, dancers, costumes, magic tricks and even PEREZ HILTON appearing in a videotaped intro segment. Britney says that the word "Circus" really does sum up her performing style. As she puts it, "As an entertainer, I bring costumes and fun -- theatrical things that make people in awe, and everything tells a story onstage." You can see footage of the tour rehearsals at Candies.com.
Britney will also have plenty of new material to showcase during the tour -- you may recall she never toured in support of her 2007 album Blackout, because of her personal problems. Now, she's got two whole albums' worth of new songs to play for her fans.
A source tells People magazine that Britney is, quote, "pretty determined" to put on a great show, and adds, "She missed singing and performing and the freedom of that. It gives her an escape and it's what she loves to do." Britney will also be able to see her sons SEAN PRESTON and JAYDEN JAMES while on the road; her ex KEVIN FEDERLINE will be traveling with them to several "base cities" where Britney will be able to visit with them.
