Is Fergie's Song "Voodoo Doll" a Ripoff?
Some reggae group called GROUNDATION has accused FERGIE and WILL.I.AM of ripping off their song, "Warterfall" for Fergie's solo track, "Voodoo Doll".
"Waterfall" was recorded in 2000 and "Voodoo Doll" . . . which was written by Fergie and Will . . . was recorded in 2006. (--It's on her debut album, "The Dutchess".) Groundation has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against them, claming that Fergie's song is, quote, "substantially and strikingly similar" to theirs. There's no word on what they're seeking in damages. Fergie and Will.I.Am have yet to comment on the lawsuit.
