Pop singer Britney Spears entered a rehabilitation facility on Tuesday according to her manager Larry Rudolph. People.com reports that Rudolph said in an official statement, "Britney Spears has voluntarily checked herself into an undisclosed rehab facility today." TMZ.com and
Canada.com report that Spears has entered an in-patient clinic in Los Angeles, the Promises Treatment Center in Malibu, at the urging of her mother and father. "We ask that the media respect her privacy," said Rudolph, "as well as those of her family and friends at this time." Spears' decision to go into rehab follows a strange weekend in which the pop star shaved her head in a very public display on Friday at a Los Angeles hair salon followed by a visit to a tattoo parlor. On Valentine's Day, she briefly visited Eric Clapton's Crossroads Centre in Antigua, a well-known rehab facility, but left after less than 24 hours.
