About the Boys & Girls Club Downtown Branch at The Coalition for the Homeless
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida (BGCCF) serves over 12,000 disadvantaged youth per year at 32 Club sites in Brevard, Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties. By providing a safe place to learn and grow, ongoing relationships with caring adult professionals, life enhancing programs, character development experiences and hope and opportunity to the youth served, BGCCF continues to make a positive difference in our communitys statistics by lowering crime, drug use, teen pregnancy and gang involvement.
Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida is the first shelter in the nation to have an on-site Boys & Girls Club. Known as The Positive Place for Kids, the Clubs provide guidance-oriented character development programs on a daily basis for children 6-18 years old, conducted by a full-time professional staff. Key Boys & Girls Club programs emphasize Character & Leadership Development, Education & Career Development, Health & Life Skills, The Arts, as well as Sports, Fitness & Recreation.
