French Filmmaker Wants Britney Spears To Play Virgin Mary

Many will yell blasphemy, but apparently a French producer wants BRITNEY SPEARS to portray the Virgin Mary in a film called Sweet Baby Jesus. And he says she's reading his script, according to the New York Post.

Strange? Well, the movie is a satire, and if she agrees to be in it, Brit will play a pregnant 19-year-old unsure of her baby's paternity who goes into labor on Christmas Eve in Bethlehem, Maryland -- and the rumor is that the child is Christ's second coming.

Producer PHILLIPPE REBBOAH says his movie partners groaned at the idea of casting Spears, but he thinks it's, quote, "brilliant."
