"PEOPLE" PAYS $6 MIL FOR J-LO TWIN PHOTOS
MSNBC's The Scoop reports People magazine has shelled out six million dollars for the first photos of JENNIFER LOPEZ's expected twins, but the deal apparently only includes the rights to publish the snapshots in the U.S. The report says OK! magazine has obtained the exclusive rights to run their photos of J-Lo's babies in its 15 international editions, including the new launch of OK! Spain.
So why did OK! magazine opt just for the overseas market? An insider tells The Scoop that J-Lo's appeal in the United States isn't as broad as many people think. The insider says, quote, "Look at her track record with her movies, and look at her album sales. The U.S. market hasn't been fascinated with her in some time. It makes more sense to not spend a fortune on photos that won't cause a noticeable increase on the newsstand." The insider also ventured that photos of J-Lo's twins aren't going to sell magazines as well as snapshots of ANGELINA and BRAD's child SHILOH did.
