TIMBALAND TO PRODUCE FIRST ALBUM CREATED EXCLUSIVELY FOR CELL PHONES
Exclusive to Verizon
TIMBALAND, always a musical innovator, has announced that he's going to record the world's first "mobile album," which will be available exclusively to subscribers of the Verizon mobile entertainment service VCAST.
More About the Songs
Billboard reports that throughout 2008, Timbaland will produce one song per month, working with a different artist each time. Each song will be released days after its produced, via VCAST, as a download, ringtone and ringback. At the end of the year, an "album" compiling all those tracks will be released exclusively through Verizon.
The first Verizon song features KERI HILSON, and Timbaland introduced it at a pre-Grammy party this past Friday night sponsored by People magazine.
Timbaland Ticked Off
Unfortunately, Tim wasn't in much of a party mood -- according to published reports, he was ticked off that some of his entourage weren't allowed into the bash. While onstage, he said, "Next time I have one of my homeboys in line, let that [bleep] in!...I don't like to see my people turned around for some [bleepin'] magazine!" A source close to Tim said he was, quote, "frustrated" at security and production slip-ups.
By the way other acts Tim may collaborate with on the project include ONEREPUBLIC, FLO RIDA and PARAMORE.
